Hi renderstuff good day, I just to ask if you have a tutorial for unwrapping just like what you did on your models. Thanks in advance and more power.

Hi zero, glad to hear from you 🙂

Unfortunately, we haven't reached the modeling subject as we have yet a lot to tell about rendering.

Meanwhile, you can show us the model you want to unwrap (if it is not confidential) and we'll descuss it here, in discussions. This way we'll fill the gap in this subject along with making your particular model complete 😉

Hi renderstuff! thanks for the immediate reply, as for now I don't have any particular model to unwrap but I am planning to model a classical sofa with rounded armrest and it has fabric texture. Since from the start I am having trouble with rounded geometries and don't know how fixed it that's why sometimes i just cheated the views so that the flaws will not be seen in my render.

Well then for now you just need to remember the less polygons you have, the easier unwrapping will be. So if you haven't yet finally decided which method to take for modeling the sofa, which is going to be unwrapped, choose the Subdivision modeling. It is that method when you make low polygon model, starting from a segmented Box primitive for example, and then smooth it using TurboSmooth or MeshSmooth modifier.

I see! so it is much better to unwrap the object while it is still in low poly.I've followed your tips and it works on the model that I made.It may not as complex model as what I am planning to do but still I am happy with the result.
